In a weight-loss obsessed society, here we discuss health from a body love and Health At Every Size standpoint.
What does this mean?
It means we can talk about nutrition without strategizing ways to deprive our bodies.
Food is not your enemy.
Here you’ll find delicious recipes for transforming zucchini into spaghetti while making your taste buds dance with Better than Sex Cake (yes, that’s a thing and it’s amazing).
Speaking of dance, here we share exercise tips and stories from guest experts because we believe moving our bodies should be a source of pleasure, not punishment.
“I exercise because I love my body not because I hate it.”
This small shift in thinking about health can have a huge impact on how you feel about and take care of your body.
Beyond nutrition and exercise, we also dive into mental health and healthcare advocacy. Therapy is amazing and we’ve brought on some guest experts to share tools for not just surviving motherhood – but thriving! When it comes to your healthcare, if you’re afraid of going to the doctor, let’s change that because you are deserving of great healthcare.
With all of this said, we get it – odds are you’re reading this as a plus size mom who has tried Weight Watchers at least twice and has Googled (or has a Pinterest board) all about Whole30 or The Keto diet. That number on the scale has made more trips up and down than the scariest of amusement park rides, we know. It is for this reason that health is our focus, regardless of that number that in no way determines your worth.
That said, if weight loss is your focus, don’t feel turned away. We hope you’ll find a lot of great tips here…you just won’t see the words “weight-loss” mentioned much beyond this landing page.
We can only hope this shift in letting go of the focus on weight and working to see food and exercise in a new light, might inspire you a bit to live a healthier, happier life.
Cheers!
