Christina Wells Bio

When Christina Wells was born the nurses told her mother that she was a “very entertaining baby”. They didn’t know the half of it. Wells grew up in Pasadena, Texas, a suburb of Houston. She and her sister were raised by a single mother with many financial hurdles. There were very few opportunities for Wells to express her talent for performing. But Christina continued to sing anywhere she could, for anyone who would listen.

After being voted Best Performer by her Pasadena High School Senior class of 1994, Wells decided to pursue a life-long dream. She set her sights for the stage. Life had different plans. Turned down time after time for not being the ‘right look’, rejection of her appearance, but not her talent, began to take its toll.

Christina set her dreams on the shelf and put her energy and love into raising two amazing sons, Ethan and Ty, as a single mother. In the meantime, Wells also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. That’s right; this is a Diva who sings, acts, dances, AND saves lives!

Wells worked as a Geriatric and Cardiac Registered Nurse for 15 years. A career that brought great fulfillment and joy. But in 2015, Christina decided to dip her toe in the performing waters once again. She began performing at a community theater in Deer Park, Texas. After a stellar performance in the musical Hairspray, a fire that had long lay dormant was once again ignited. Wells would set her sights on achieving her childhood dream of performing. Christina created a live band, The Christina Wells Band, and she began a YouTube show called The Christina and Alli Show, which showcases fun and happy music every Monday. From there, she began to pursue professional shows with grand success.

Her stage credits include Sylvia of All Shook Up with Theatre Under The Stars, Charilee in Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Spectacular at Stages Repertory Theatre, Jewel in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray at Art Park Players in Deer Park. Christina was a featured soloist in Super Bowl LIVE! presented by Verizon Wireless. She proudly carries the title of Houston’s Pride Superstar for 2016-2017. Wells was also named the F.A.C.E Awards Entertainer of the Year for 2016!

Her dream seemed to be getting closer and closer to reality. She had no idea how close until she took a chance and auditioned for America’s Got Talent! Christina made it all the way to the semifinals singing such songs as “I Know Where I’ve Been”, “I Am Changing” and “Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin in front of 11 million viewers. Christina was also noted to be quite the speaker during her time on national television. News publications such as USA Today, Forbes, People.com, The Houston Chronicle, and Billboard Magazine all featured her as the performer with a message of positivity while also “blowing the roof off of the Dolby Theater”. Christina is now back in Houston. She is ready to entertain and inspire the world with her powerhouse voice and her heartfelt message of hope and love.

Without thinking it through, I announced in storie Without thinking it through, I announced in stories that in 2021 I'm walking from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Fullerton, California!⁣
⁣
Yup. I did that.⁣
⁣
And while I'm laughing at myself, I'm sticking to it!⁣
⁣
Hear me out.⁣
⁣
I miss my parents and sister who live in California so much, and we don't know when we'll see one another again.⁣
⁣
It's about 800 miles from my home in Albuquerque to my family in Fullerton.⁣
⁣
So, I plan to walk 800 miles in one year!⁣
⁣
Sure, I'll just be doing laps around my neighborhood, but in my heart, I'll be one step closer to my family.⁣
⁣
What's better?⁣
⁣
My mom and sister have joined in, and they're walking my way!⁣
⁣
So, while I'm still laughing at myself and trying not to overthink this big goal - I'm excited for this journey to begin.⁣
⁣
And since this all started in stories, I'll keep sharing, and you can follow along.⁣
⁣
Are you setting any big goals in 2021? Let me know so I can cheer you on!⁣

Let's chat about mom guilt. ⠀ ⠀ Ever loo Let's chat about mom guilt. ⠀
⠀
Ever look through your childhood photos and wonder what exactly your parents were thinking?⠀
⠀
And I'm not talking about my perm and fashionable bubble necklace. ⠀
⠀
Swipe to see a photo my mother took of my sister and me trying to pet a wild animal. ⠀
⠀
A wild animal with massive horns! ⠀
⠀
Parenting in the 90s = "I'll allow it!"⠀
⠀
Why have I held onto so much mom guilt for the questionable parenting choices I've made that never involved horns? ⠀
⠀
That ends today! ⠀
⠀
I’m shaking off my guilt, pouring myself a cup of coffee in my #1 Mom mug, and moving on with my beautiful life. ⠀
⠀
Children of the 80s and 90s, who's with me? ⠀
⠀
#momguilt #plusmommy #plussizemom ⠀
⠀
Today I want to celebrate something that’s hard Today I want to celebrate something that’s hard to admit. ⠀
⠀
When my son was little, I taught him that mommy drinks, "mommy juice."⠀
⠀
I didn't ever want him to take a sip of my drink and accidentally consume alcohol.  ⠀
⠀
So, he knows to ask before sipping.⠀
⠀
I didn't drink "mommy juice" nightly, but enough that I wasn't honest when care providers asked how many drinks per week. ⠀
⠀
It went on like that for many years. ⠀
⠀
Then 2020 hit, and in March, I bought a case of wine. ⠀
⠀
And then, when that was gone, I bought more wine.⠀
⠀
All the "mommy needs wine" memes made me feel like what I was doing was fine.⠀
⠀
A long day of distance learning? ⠀
⠀
Mommy needs her juice! ⠀
⠀
On the evening of November 14th, I drank a bottle of wine, and I remember thinking, 'I want to feel this way all the time.' ⠀
⠀
On November 15th, I woke up that morning and knew I needed to stop. ⠀
⠀
And so I did. ⠀
⠀
I promised myself I would stop drinking for two weeks.⠀
⠀
It was hard for the first few days, which helped me realize how my drinking had gotten out of control. ⠀
⠀
Two weeks came and went with my husband's support. ⠀
⠀
And I kept going. ⠀
⠀
I didn't drink on Thanksgiving or my birthday. ⠀
⠀
As of today, I haven't had alcohol in a month.⠀
⠀
I'm sharing this because I know many of us have turned to vices to get through this year. ⠀
⠀
If something tells you that whatever you're doing needs to be cut back, I'm cheering you on!⠀
⠀
Today I'm celebrating day 30, and if you want, today can be your day one.⠀
⠀
XO,⠀
Jen⠀
