In April of 2011, I started writing a plus size pregnancy blog.
I didn’t know what I was doing at the time. All I knew was that I felt compelled to tell my story. A story of a plus size woman who had a healthy outcome.
When I was pregnant, I Googled “plus size pregnancy” quite a few times. My search results were full of negative information and heartbreaking stories.
I wanted plus size people to know it is absolutely possible to have positive outcomes!
There were so many resources I spent hours searching for, and I wanted to develop that content. I started writing articles full of tips for plus size maternity clothes and how to connect with size-friendly healthcare providers.
I never could’ve imagined that I’d go on to develop the leading plus size pregnancy resource with nearly 6.5 million pageviews and counting!
Today, on the tenth anniversary of my plus size pregnancy blog, I’m excited to share my journey. I become the guest as Mia O’Malley joins the show to interview me during episode 143 of the Plus Mommy Podcast.

The healthcare system is biased terribly against pregnancy in fat women. At least today, they recognize that it does happen. When my first wife, who was fat, conceived twice and had normal pregnancies 50 years ago, doctors acted surprised that she even had a husband. 😟
